SOCOTECO II, in partnership with Aboitiz Power and the Department of Education (DepEd) Sarangani, officially turned over โฑ150,000 worth of electrical materials, CCTV cameras, and a monitor to Malalag National High School in a ceremony held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
The donated electrical materials and equipment from Aboitiz Power were installed by SOCOTECO II Maitum linemen. This initiative is part of SOCOTECO IIโs ongoing CSR efforts under its Brigada Eskwela program, which aims to improve school facilities and promote a safe, conducive learning environment within its franchise areas.
The ceremonial turnover was led by Aboitiz Power Area Manager, Mr. Daryll Jone Gacus; SOCOTECO II Board President, Engr. Aniceto Baculna Jr.; Makima District Director, Dir. Mae Mendoza; SOCOTECO II General Manager, Mr. Geronimo D. Desesto; Schools Division Superintendent, Ms. Ruth L. Estacio, represented by Mr. Ismael R. Villaluz; Malalag National High School Principal, Ms. Jemina Miero-Panes; and Faculty President, Mr. Alfredo T. Ondap Jr.
The School Principal, Ms. Jemina Miero-Panes, in her welcome address, expressed her sincere gratitude to SOCOTECO II and Aboitiz Power for choosing Malalag National High School as the beneficiary of the Brigada Eskwela program. She noted that the donated materials will greatly improve the schoolโs learning environment, making it safer, brighter, and more secure for both students and teachers.
During the ceremony, Mr. Daryll Gacus expressed his sincere appreciation to SOCOTECO II for selecting Aboitiz Power as a partner in this meaningful endeavor. He also reassured the cooperativeโs member-consumer-owners that SOCOTECO IIโs service extends beyond power distributionโreaching into programs that uplift the welfare of the communities it serves.
Dir. Mae Mendoza, who is an alumna of Malalag National High School, shared her joy and gratitude, noting how meaningful it is that her alma mater was chosen as the beneficiary of the Brigada Eskwela initiative.
Meanwhile, BOD President Aniceto Baculna Jr. and GM Geronimo D. Desesto both conveyed their thanks to Aboitiz Power for its unwavering support and reaffirmed SOCOTECO IIโs dedication to continuously serving its member-consumer-owners through impactful community programs.
The event concluded with the signing of the Deed of Donation and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the formal acceptance of the installed electrical materials and safety and monitoring systems and the strengthened partnership among SOCOTECO II, Aboitiz Power, DepEd Sarangani, and the local school community.
