SOCOTECO II took part in the Medical Civic Action Program organized by the Philippine Navy Naval Affiliated Reserve Force – Eastern Mindanao (SOCOPA) in celebration of the 48th Parochial Fiesta of Sto. Niño de Bula Parish, held on January 11, 2026 at Sr. Sto. Niño Parish Covered Court, Brgy. Bula, General Santos City.
The activity brought together various partner organizations and institutions that responded to the call to serve by extending free medical assistance to parishioners and residents of Barangay Bula. Services provided included free medical check-ups and consultations, medicines and vitamins, dental services, ear cleaning, bukol consultations, and other essential healthcare services, making quality healthcare accessible to the community.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative under the SOCOTECO H.E.L.P.S Program – Kaagapay sa Kalusugan, SOCOTECO II actively contributed to the mission by partnering with doctors from Gensan Doctors Hospital, Inc. who rendered free medical check-ups and consultations. The cooperative also donated medicines and vitamins for both adults and children, further strengthening its commitment to community health and wellness.
Aside from medical assistance, SOCOTECO II, through SOCOTECO II Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative, also distributed free AGAPE—pandesal, kape, and arroz caldo—to all attendees, providing warmth and nourishment to attendees, volunteers, and guests throughout the event.
Key figures present during the event included GSC III District Director Dir. Leyne S. Alferez and Atty. Cherry Joie Lima-Ponce, OIC-General Manager, who spearheaded SOCOTECO II’s Medical Mission and led the cooperative’s active participation in the activity.
Meanwhile, Commodore Marfenio Y. Tan, PN (RES), the keynote speaker, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all partner institutions, doctors and nurses, volunteers, and parishioners for their unwavering support of the program. In his message, he highlighted how this annual medical mission—now 20 years running—has consistently provided free medical check-ups, medicines and vitamins, reading glasses, dental services, and snacks, becoming a lasting symbol of compassion and service to the community.
SOCOTECO II is deeply grateful for the opportunity to be chosen as one of the partners of this meaningful program for many years now. The cooperative values this long-standing partnership as a reflection of shared dedication in bringing accessible healthcare and compassionate service to the community.
